Graduation Cap Decoration Guidelines

Class of 2020

North Park High School will allow the option for students to decoration their graduation cap for the 2020 commencement ceremony. This is a voluntary activity for students who wish to decorate their graduation cap.

A graduation ceremony is a culminating celebration of a graduating class. The tone and tenor of a commencement ceremony is positive, reflective, and the celebration of accomplishments. It often includes expressions of gratitude towards individuals who stood by us throughout the formative years of high school. It marks the end of one chapter in our lives and the looks with anticipation towards future possibilities. North Park High School is a community of students, parents, and educators who value the respectful celebration of each member of the class and their families.

Use these sentiments as you consider how you might decorate your graduation cap.

Please comply with the following graduation cap decoration guidelines:

1) As for all school hosted events, the rules regarding appropriate and respectful expressions on any garment apply. Refrain from any images depicting: gangs, gang activities, drugs, guns, violence, or illegal activities.

2) Decorations must be two dimensional flat surface expressions on the top of the graduation cap. No three dimensional artwork or sculptures will be allowed.

3) Students who do not follow these guidelines will not be allowed to wear their graduation cap.
